Getting Started
To request access to these forums please:
1 - Ensure you are a member of our meetup group, located at: http://www.meetup.com/apipeoria
2 - Attend at least ONE event BEFORE requesting forum access. Forums are open to actively attending members.
3 - Plan to attend one event every three months.
We cannot approve your forum account until all three of these have been met!
If you are new to the board, we welcome you! We are so glad that you found us. API of Peoria is a very open and friendly
group that encourages real life connection between parents on their journey of connecting with their children in a positive way. Whether you are new to the term Attachment Parenting, or have practiced AP for a while, we welcome you and your unique perspective!
API of Peoria has a variety of activities offered every month. You can find our events in our monthly Newsletter or the href="http://parents.meetup.com/801/calendar/">online calendar on Meetup.
Connecting in the Community
Local parents within the local Peoria area who are members of our meetup group who have already attended an event can
register for our message forums. The message forums are a fabulous way to supplement our many monthly activities but are not meant as a replacement for real life interactions. Plan on attending at least one event every 3 months to keep your message forums account active. This is so easy to do! Whether you come to yoga, a Mom’s Night Out, a monthly meeting or a playdate, there is sure to be an event that fits your schedule and family. This helps us all get to know each other and put faces with the names that we share online.
Your Personal Information
During the registration process, we do ask for some personal information that is visible/accessible only by the
leaders/administrators of this group. Your personal information is used only for 2 reasons:
1 – API of Peoria uses your personal information only to give you one welcome phone call when you join the meetup group, an invitation to the new member coffee, and introductory copies of our monthly newsletter, "Parenting from the Heart".
2 – Our parent organization, Attachment Parenting International, contacts people via mail once a year to ask you to become a paid member of the organization (this is optional).
If the way your information is used is changed, we will notify you immediately.

Moderation of Forums
Members of API Peoria shall participate in the message forum in a respectful, mature fashion. Please be thoughtful and respectful in your communications. Posts may be monitored, edited, and deleted as needed at the Leaders' discretion.
Please respect the privacy of all of our members. Personal information, including parent and child names, situations, and locations is private to this group, and should not be shared on other forums, or in and around the community in discussions with people who are not API of Peoria message forum participants. Breach of this policy could result in suspension of your account.
We encourage discussion and information sharing but we do not want anyone to think they *must* make certain choices to be an AP parent, or that Attachment Parenting International endorses any specific lifestyle choices beyond what is stated in the API Principles. The principles are open to the interpretation of each family, encouraging them to strive for emotional responsiveness.
